We customized plans for and installation of urban farm sites and community gardens + programs that support local food production, processing, distribution, and consumption in the urban environment by the people who live in the community. From backyard beekeeping to urban vegetable gardens, container gardening on balconies, front yard orchards, and window boxes — urban farmers grow where they are.

We offer one-on-one Mentorship and training throughout the year for individuals an organizations. We will help guide you throughout the year to plant, tend, and harvest your bounty. Mentees will also participate in online quarterly meetings and in garden classes. You’ll grow the skills needed to keep your garden healthy, productive and beautiful.

Our Workshops and Pop-ups are designed for maximum and meaningful involvement from community stakeholders. We design and host Workshops, Classes, and Pop-ups that are designed for maximum and meaningful involvement of children and adults in education around sustainable, local urban agriculture. We’re passionate about educating the public about the benefits of gardening, urban farming, homesteading, composting, beekeeping, including basic how to courses and demonstrations. We are passionate about educating the public about the benefits of urban agriculture, including gardening, urban farming, homesteading, composting, beekeeping, backyard chickens, etc. We pay attention to neighborhood traits and roll out agricultural solutions tailored to address distinct local needs, maximize benefits, and define a path that contributes to the health of city ecosystems.
About Wisdom & Cherie
When you choose to work with Deep Roots Community Planning Solutions, you are supporting work to create a just and equitable local food system. We firmly believe that access to healthy food is a right that should be afforded to every human.
Co-founder and Manager Wisdom Jzar is a naturalist at heart. He serves as the resident expert on homesteading, wildlife, the natural environment, home gardening, locating and installing urban farm projects. He has vast experience in composting, soil health, beekeeping, backyard chickens, and organic farming. He is passionate about food justice and integrating sustainable systems in urban agricultural projects.
Co-founder and President Cherie Jzar is a certified professional urban planner with extensive background in urban agriculture and is devoted to developing sustainable urban agricultural projects that truly sustains people. Cherie possesses broad experience in community planning, outreach and engagement, neighborhood development, preservation, program development, and urban farming. Cherie leads planning and program development.
